Biography for Author Arkadi Strugatsky:

Arkadi Strugatsky is one half of the amazing Russian science fiction brother team, the Strugatskys, or the Strugatski Brothers. A science fiction author of great reknown. Arkday Strugatsky published a few books under his pseudonym S. Yaroslavtsev, the most interesting of which, to us, was The Expedition in Purgatory. He was born in Georgia. His mother was a teacher and his father, of Jewish descent, died during the siege of Leningrad. Arkady lost several siblings and relatives to the political purges in Russia and served in the Soviet army. He spent much of his life as a foreign language translator and editor of several technical journals. He is survived by his brother Boris Strugatski.
