Often written in the hurried, mixed and mashed up voice that has later become identified with Cyberpunk, because of its rushing, information dense tones and operatic use of flat languages, his best known book The Demolished Man, is particularly pertinent, as, like Philip K Dick, it deals with a world where law enforcement can read minds, thus blurring the line between thought crimes and action crimes. , based on a real life incident of a WWII sailor lost at sea on a driftraft, whom no ship approached out of fear for a stunning 133 days, thinking he was a lure to attract ships where they may be attacked by submarines. This novel is often cited as an ancestor of Cyberpunk, mostly for the tactics and techniques of disruption employed by the main character. , an excellent example of his virulent prose style, in which computers, once mans tool, become the bane of mankinds existence. An excellent information dystopia novel.
